Bumling pendant lamp Anders Pehrson 1963

Bumling lamp Anders Pehrson 1963

A beautiful “Bumling” midcentury pendant light, designed by Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan, Sweden from the 1960s.

The Bumling is one of the most iconic Scandinavian pendant lights of all time. Hans Bergström, founder of Ateljé Lyktan was inspired by a cup that was covering parts of an electric installation in his work space. This led to him making a small candle holder with the same shape. When architect Anders Pehrson took over the company in the beginning of the 1960s he had the idea to turn the shape upside down and make it into a pendant light and the “Bumling” was born. Since then the lamp has been an ongoing success and it is produced until this day.
